It stands for: Brighton Restaurant Awards Vote Online. The acronym also works well for the action of giving your favourite restaurant a cheery ‘Bravo’ for their efforts! BRAVO is also known as the Brighton Restaurant Awards and were started four years go by the team at Restaurants Brighton.
There are always 16 categories in the BRAVO awards - all of which are listed on Restaurants Brighton with more detailed descriptions. For a more detailed explanation of each category please click into the specific category page for an overview. We change the 16 categories year on year so we can introduce new and revised categories.
The BRAVOs are set up and run by the team behind Brighton’s most popular dining website - Restaurants Brighton. The team realised that there was no 100% public restaurant awards for the city and surrounding area so decided that 2017 would be the perfect time to launch the BRAVO awards. In 2020 the BRAVOs will be 4 years old.
Yes they are. We are committed to ensuring the awards are 100% voted for by the public - which means no panel of judges or food critics influencing the vote. All votes will be cast online online via a dedicated hub at brightonrestaurantawards.co.uk and there are limits to how many times an individual can vote for a certain venue (five categories max) to ensure no funny business goes on. All voters must register their email address to be able to vote in each of the 16 categories.
All venues will be able to promotes themselves using the assets we have provided on the website, and the printed marketing material which we will provide to all venues who would like to encourage their customers to vote.
A Brighton and Hove business can be featured in any of 15 voting categories, they cannot be featured in Sussex Finest.
Sussex venues can be featured ONLY in these five voting categories: Sussex Finest, Best Team, Afternoon Tea, Best Roast and Sustainable Eats.
Any venue can only be nominated in a maximum of 5 categories.
